The Sedona International Film Festival will host the Northern Arizona premiere of the critically acclaimed, powerful new film “The Children Act” Jan. 14-17 at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre.


Met Live Opera season presents ‘Adriana Lecouvreur’ in Sedona Jan. 12

   January 9, 2019   

The Sedona International Film Festival will host the next Met Live Opera presentation of Francesco Cilea’s “Adriana Lecouvreur” on Saturday, Jan. 12. There will be two shows that day at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre: 11 a.m. (live simulcast) and 4 p.m. (encore). Plan to come early as John Steinbrunner will lead a pre-opera talk one hour before each production (10 a.m. for the morning show and 3 p.m. for the encore).

Celebrate the spirit, songs and stories of Peter, Paul and Mary when renowned tribute band MacDougal Street West brings its live show and concert “A Peter, Paul and Mary Experience” to Sedona. There will be one performance on Saturday, Jan. 5 at 7 p.m. on the Goldenstein Stage at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre, presented by the Sedona International Film Festival.

Mary Poppins Returns was a surprising delight for me. I did not believe that any film could match the wonder of the 1964 Julie Andrews film. This version of the Poppins story comes close.

The Mule shows us that age does not necessarily have to be a limit on one’s talent or career. Look at Clint Eastwood, who at age 88 , directed and stars in this film. The story, based on true events, is about a 90-year old WWII veteran, who has a successful business and falls on hard times.
