1 dead, 4 injured in head-on crash near Sedona
A 7-year-old boy was killed and three family members injured Friday night in a head-on collision near Sedona.
David Michael Brown, Cottonwood, was pronounced dead shortly after the 6:20 p.m. crash on Arizona 89A just south of Dry Creek Bridge, the Sedona Fire Department reported.
According to Mark Hall of the Department of Public Safety, a 1993 Chevy four-door driven by David Lee Brown, 26, Cottonwood, crossed over the center line and collided with a black Dodge pickup driven by Gerald Pauli, 55. Authorities believe Brown may have been swerving to avoid an object in the road when the crash occurred.
David Lee Brown was flown to Flagstaff Medical Center suffering leg, arm and chest injuries after being extricated from the Chevy authorities said. He is listed in critical condition a hospital spokeswoman said Monday.
A third family member, Danielle Brown, 3, Cottonwood, was flown to Phoenix Children’s Hospital. She is listed in good condition.
The fourth family member, Devin Brown, 4, Cottonwood, was also flown to Flagstaff Medical Center suffering from leg and facial injuries. She is listed in fair condition.
Pauli was flown to Flagstaff Medical Center with leg injuries. He is listed in fair condition.
