Enriquetta Madrid Gallegos

Born Jan. 20, 1916, in Clarkdale, Enriquetta Madrid Gallegos moved to Jerome as a young child.

She graduated from Jerome High School in 1936. Mrs. Gallegos worked in retail for many years in Jerome and Cottonwood and was a founding member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7400 Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Carlos A. Gallegos.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, 1 p.m., at the Sedona Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at Valley View Cemetery in Clarkdale at 2:30 p.m.

She is survived by her daughters, Alicia Gallegos and Carlinda Gallegos of Jerome; a son and daughter-in-law, Art and Fern Gallegos of Cottonwood; four granddaughters, Christine Barag of Clarkdale, Olivia Gallegos of Jerome, and Tracy Kernaghan and husband Mike, and Michelle Gallegos of Everett, Wash.; a grandson, Patrick Bjork of Oslo, Norway; and her brother, Fred Encinas of El Paso, Texas.

A celebration of Mrs. Gallegos’ life and potluck will take place at the VFW Post 7400 from 3-5 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to the Clemenceau Heritage Museum.

Patricia C. Ferguson

Patricia C. Ferguson, 46, of Arma, Kan., died Jan. 28 at her home following an illness.

She was born April 12, 1954, in Chicago to Thomas R. and Glory Ann Sullivan Dyrda. She graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School in Colorado Springs, Colo. She married Richard L. Ferguson and he survives at the home in Kansas.

Mrs. Ferguson attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Arma.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Arma with Father Donald Thissen officiating. Mrs. Ferguson has been cremated and private burial will be at a later date.

The family of Patricia C. Ferguson suggests expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the American Diabetes Association. Memorials may be left or sent to the Brenner Mortuary at 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, Kan., 66762

Survivors include stepchildren Tammie Winter of Ft. Scott, Kan., James Nickelson of Ft. Scott, Kan., Kim Ferguson of Pittsburg, Kan., Richard Ferguson Jr. of Ft. Scott, Kan., and Linda LaFarge of Ft. Scott, Kan.; her father, Thomas Dyrda of Cottonwood; sisters, Penny Gutierrez of Calhan, Colo., Peggy Mikkelson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 10 step-grandchildren and two nephews.
