Search leads to heroin, other drugs in Rimrock
The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office Special Crimes Unit (SCU) executed a search warrant in Rimrock Friday morning.
According to the YCSO, the search warrant was obtained as a result of a three-week investigation concerning the homeowner, 49 year-old John Fredric Ireys. The information received began with concerned citizens and area deputies who suspected and reported suspicious activity.
Subsequent to the execution of the warrant, deputies located approximately 27 grams of the drug methamphetamine, .7 grams of heroin and 12 grams of marijuana inside the home.
Ireys was also found to be in illegal possession of a firearm. He has been charged with possession of dangerous drugs, dangerous drugs for sale, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm when he is a prohibited possessor.
An associate of Ireys, 38 year-old Kevin Lance Cole was also in the home at the time of the warrant. Cole has been charged with possession of dangerous drugs, drug paraphernalia and for an outstanding felony probation warrant.
Both subjects were booked at the Yavapai County Jail in Camp Verde.
