Sedona Airport Day

This year's theme is "The 100th Year of the Cadillac.
"This is our opportunity to give families the chance to see Sedona from the air at a low price," said Tom Newman of Sky Trek Tours.
Larry Brunner of Sky Safari clarifies the 10-cents-a-pound concept: "If a child weighs 80 pounds, it will cost $8 for his ride. If Dad weighs 175 pounds, then his cost would be $17.50."
A bird's-eye view of Sedona is a spectacular vision you will never forget.
There will be four high-tech Cessna planes providing tours, two from Sky Trek Air Charter and two from Sky Safari.
There will also be a silent auction and raffle sponsored by Sedona 99's, an International Organization of Women Pilots founded in the 1930s.
The auction includes gold and pearl jewelry by Geoffrey Roth, sculpture by Phillip Vickers, a handmade quilt, a stained glass airplane mosaic by Barbara Vickers, many restaurant certificates and much more.
There also will be a raffle of Russ Brown's Portrait of Amelia Earhart with her plane. All proceeds benefit the Sedona 99's local scholarship program.
The Sedona Car Club's annual competition will compete for trophies and recognition with their classic autos spanning over 90 years.
Al Camillo, one of the coordinators of this event, said, "This is a wonderful opportunity for the public to become familiar with the airport, talk to the pilots, enjoy looking at amazing aircrafts and automobiles and to eliminate some of the mysteries of aviation."
