Five arrested in Cottonwood drug bust
Yavapai County Sheriff's deputies report that YCSO Special Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at a residence located in the 2300 block of Eastern Drive in Cottonwood April 11 at about 10 a.m.
Deputies reported that they arrested Angela Jean Keller, 32, of Cottonwood, on possession of drug paraphernalia charges and for an outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrant. Also arrested were:
• James R. French, 48, of Cottonwood, on possession of drug paraphernalia charges.
• Monte C. Carrillo, 36, of Cottonwood, on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and providing false information to law enforcement and for an outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrant.
• Shawn Lewayne Lazarit, 26, of Cottonwood, on drug related charges and alleged child abuse.
• Nicole Rene Lazarit, 26, of Cottonwood, on drug related charges and alleged child abuse.
Deputies reported that Lazarits' 4-year-old daughter was removed from the home by Child Protective Services (CPS) due to unsafe living conditions and charges of illegal drug activity.
Deputies allegedly seized 18 grams of methamphetamine inside the home, with a street value of over $1,800, as well as drug paraphernalia used for packaging and sales of the drugs including weight scales. According to the report, they also seized seven firearms, one of which was allegedly stolen from Colorado, and approximately $850 in U.S. currency.
