The Chamber of Commerce will run a help desk, directing both exhibitors and visitors through the expo. There will be food available from vendors throughout the day.
Saturday, the activities get started at 9 a.m. as Jason Lavelle, nursery manager for Arizona Botanical Gardens, presents a demonstration on cacti. He will explain how to landscape for beauty and safe design, how to handle and care for certain types of cactus plants and what types will thrive in this region.
County Extension agent Jeff Schalau follows with a presentation on wildlife in an urban setting.
At 11 a.m., Culligan man Mel Boyd will hit on water-quality issues, expounding on color, odor, taste, smell and more, during his vivid demonstration.
Lindsay Schramm from the County Extension office will present "Compost Tea 101" at noon.
Joyce Stites, of Distinctive Interior Design, takes the stage at 1 p.m. with furniture, fabric and wall hangings for her demonstration on interior decoration.
Schramm returns at 2 p.m. to explain all about "Saving Seeds" for those who want to keep and use this season's seeds for future seasons.
Also at 2 p.m., REW Roofing's Truitt Webb will show off the company's roofing machine. This will be an outdoor setup along with an indoor exhibit booth.
Turner and Bellomy, of Restored Relics, will show their expertise at bringing old furniture to life for use or show in a 3 p.m. show.
Schramm is slated to return with her seeds at 4 p.m. for another demonstration.
Sunday, Lavelle will lead off the demonstrations again at 10 a.m., to be followed by Schramm, Webb, Restored Relics and Stites.
The main entrance to the Verde Valley Home and Business Show is through the cafeteria doors. Be prepared for prizes and giveaways from participating companies.
