Rainbow Acres Choir tours California
THE RAINBOW Acres Ranchers Choir traveled more than 3,000 miles to perform in Northern California churches.
"The Rancher Choir is unique," says Rainbow President Gary W. Wagner. "It provides the Ranchers an opportunity to combine artistic expression with spirituality, and provides a forum for communicating their faith in a beautiful way."
The Rainbow Acres Rancher Choir recently completed an extensive performance tour through Northern California, singing at seven different churches, and logging over 3,127 travel miles.
"The Ranchers worked very hard for this tour," says Choir Director Gwen Simmons. "They practiced diligently and faithfully for over a month before we left, and I'm very proud of the wonderful job they did."
The tour was arranged by Patrick Pang, vice president for advancement at Rainbow Acres. "Church support is so very important to Rainbow," says Pang. "We are happy to show our appreciation by sharing the choir with others."
The churches that hosted performances also provided many meals and some lodging for the tour group. Performances were given at First Baptist Church of Visalia, First Baptist Church of Stockton, First Baptist Church of Salinas, Shell Ridge Community Church, First Baptist Church of Alhambra, Hillside Community Church, and First Baptist Church of Malipista.
The following Ranchers were part of this tour choir: Greg Dawson, Mark Tutterow, Larry Dakin, Jeff Pitts, Mark Buehring, Doug Reed, Susan Welch, Brandi Hemkin, Jeanne Figgins, Trudy Schock, Laura Garner, and Carol Kieffer.
Rainbow staff that worked on the tour were: Gary W. Wagner, Patrick Pang, Roberta Patrick, and Gwen Simmons. Volunteers Phyllis Bishop and Dr. Ron Kowalski also accompanied the group.
