Y-A Nation general election proceeds

Robin Hazelwood confirmed last week that David Kwail and Denise Sine did resign their positions on the Yavapai-Apache Nation's council in order to run in the upcoming General Election. They had until Aug. 5 to submit their resignations after winning the primary election.

Jamie Fullmer (205 votes) and David Kwail (140) won the July 31 primary election in the Yavapai-Apache Nation's chairman race. They now face off in the upcoming general election for the Nation's top seat. Norman Smith (108) goes up against Denise Sine (85) for the vice chairman's position.

The general election includes three vacant council seat positions. Running are: Frieda Eswonia, Harry Hood, Billy Garner, Miriam Haddo, Donna Nightpipe, Roberta Pavetea, Delores Plunkett, Buddy Rocha, Sr., Beverly Grey, and Myron Johnson.
