The register has been busy every since.
Harvey's Gourmet Fast Food is located on Cottonwood's Main Street and serves up sandwiches, wraps, hot dogs, salads and soups. Just about everything is homemade down to the sauce for the popular sandwiches.
Gosser says the pastrami outsells the other sandwiches eight to one. It is served California style, Gosser said. That means the meat is steamed and served hot.
Gosser owns Harvey's along with his wife Grace. Adam Benites works as the restaurant's manager and chef.
Gosser has years of experience in the restaurant business. His family owned a number of family-style restaurants in California, and Harvey grew up in the industry.
The Gossers moved to Cottonwood thinking they would purchase a franchise. They reconsidered when they realized owning someone else's restaurant would mean they couldn't make the sandwiches as big as they wanted to. Harvey said they wanted to be able to pile the meat high, up to a half pound.
"Our sandwiches are the biggest and the best," Grace said.
Harvey said they might decide to expand the business in the future. For now they're open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday. In the spring they plan to expand the hours of operation.
Harvey's is located at 468 S. Main St. in Cottonwood. For more information, call 634-0414.
