Kids for Camp tourney a success

First I would like to thank God and the many people who made the first Kids for Camp benefit softball tournament such a success. We were able to raise about $1,000 and are already planning next year's tournament.

A special thank you goes to Mr. John Teague who spent his day umpiring all the games, Thanks John. Thank you Sue Monroe for all your hard work in organizing the concession stand. I couldn't have done it without you. Thank you, Randy Strickland, for all your PR work. Thank you to Arlin Messick and Steve Sarkasion for your daily encouragement. Thank you to our announcers, Noah Bullard and Mike Bolar. Great job, guys. Thanks to all the youth that spent their day working in the concession stand. Thanks to Camp Verde Feed, Bashas' and all of the Small groups at First Baptist Church who donated snacks to sell at the Tournament.

Last but not least thank you to all the teams that participated. I hope a great time was had by all and I hope to see you next year.

Verde Valley Voices voice thanks

The Verde Valley Voices wish to extend heartfelt thanks to all who helped make our Mother's Day concert a success. We had a great crowd at the Verde Baptist Church on Willard and we thoroughly enjoyed singing for you. It was due in part to the people and organizations that helped.

We want to thank Pastor Mark Rice of the Verde Baptist Church for all his help, Bill Bowers and the Cottonwood Community Band and the individual musicians that contributed so very much: Richard Nix, Keith Hammes, Larry Peterson, Jimmy DuFresne and Marian Maby and to Ellen Foncannon for her wonderful arrangement of I'm Gonna Sing.

There are so many other "thanks" to go around: the ushers from the Verde Baptist Church and the ticket sellers from the Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, all the businesses that purchased advertisements in our program and APS for their help with the printing of those programs, Brent Payne of Audio Visual Specialists and Greg Tauriello of Sweet Sixteen Recording for their technical help in completing our concert CD.

Recognition goes out to the businesses that sold tickets for us also: Cottonwood Chamber of Commerce, Built upon a Rock, Planet Video, Canyon Ridge Hair Care, Verde Floral and Double Crossers Hair Styling.

We are looking forward to working with all these fine people and businesses in the fall as we prepare for our annual Christmas concert Dec. 19.

Ken Brown, president,

Verde Valley Voices
