Cottonwood celebration offers fun, free food, fireworks

The City of Cottonwood Parks and Recreation Department is proud to sponsor the Sixth Annual Fantastic Family Fourth of July. This exciting event will take place Monday, July 4 from 3:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Cottonwood Kids Park (in front of the Fairgrounds at 12th Street and Cherry).

Admission, contests, kid rides and barbecue are free. The Parks and Recreation department will be selling Pepsi products for $1 and glow necklaces for $2. Other vendors will also be on site. Parking at the fairgrounds will cost $1 after 6 p.m. Bring your blankets or lawn chairs and come enjoy a fun day with your family and an exciting evening of magnificent fireworks.

Schedule of Events

3:30-7 p.m. Kids Play & Water Rides: Super Slide, Water Games, Jumping Castles

4-6 p.m. Free Hot Dogs, Hamburgers & Watermelon donated by Food City and served by Kiwanis Club (cooking until the food runs out)

4:30-6:30 p.m. Pie and Watermelon eating contests

7-8:30 p.m. Live entertainment featuring a VFW Color Guard Salute to Veterans

8:45 p.m. Northern Arizona's Biggest and Best Pyrotechnic Display

This event is sponsored by Cottonwood Chamber of Commerce, Food City, Salt River Materials Group, Phelps & Sons, Gantry Constructors, Arizona Public Service, NAWS, Clarkdale/Verde Kiwanis, Verde Valley Pepsi-Cola, Verde Valley Fair Association and Yavapai Broadcasting.
