Camp Verde drops game to Many Farms
Coming off of a couple of pretty big wins, the Camp Verde girls basketball team stumbled a bit Saturday afternoon losing to Many Farms, 47-44.
Both teams struggled offensively, but it was Many Farms that took an early lead 13-5 in the first quarter. The Cowboys battled back and tied the game up 20-20 going into the half by scoring 15 points in the second quarter.
Both teams came out firing in the third quarter, but Camp Verde edged out Many Farms, 18-12 taking the lead going into the fourth quarter.
Many Farms kept up the intensity and Camp Verde had a hard time getting the ball to Laura Lee Oros on the inside which resulted in a five point quarter. Many Farms scored 15 points in the fourth quarter to get the win.
Oros led the Cowboys in scoring with 22 points and eight rebounds. Morgan Boler had 10 points and Rochelle Williams continues her giant defensive effort with eight steals. Cassie Spleiss led the rebounding effort with nine.
"The girls played pretty well overall against Many Farms," said coach Showers. "The team is doing a better job overall with consistency game by game."
The Cowboys played Rough Rock on Tuesday and will face off against Red Mesa on the road for their last regular season game on Friday.
