Charles 'Chuck' Campos

Charles "Chuck" Campos, 78, of Cottonwood, died Saturday, June 3, 2006. Chuck was born in Gary, Ind., on March 12, 1928 to Serafine and Marceline (Garcia) Campos.

A veteran, Mr. Campos served his country in the U.S. Army. After which, he worked as a car dealer; as well as with finance and insurance. Chuck was also the owner and operator of a clothing factory.

Chuck was a very talented individual. He played the saxophone and sang as a tenor. He also enjoyed golf, crossword puzzles, fishing and watching T.V. He greatest joy was being a husband and the father of five sons.

He is preceded in death by two sons, Charles J. Campos Jr. and Keath E. Campos. He leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years, Rita M. Campos; three sons, Robert Campos, Danny Campos and Kenneth Campos, 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E. Mingus Ave., in Cottonwood on June 10 at 10 a.m.

Kenneth M. McGowan

Kenneth M. McGowan, 69, of Cottonwood, died Sunday, June 4, 2006. He was born on March 3, 1937, to Maurice and Grace (Crooks) McGowan in Lubbock, Texas.

In his youth, Kenneth attended and graduated from Wilson High School. He also served his country as an E-4 during the Cold War; having served in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army.

Kenneth was an entrepreneur, as well as, employed with AT&T, from which he took his retirement. He also had a degree in computer graphics, and he was a Mason.

Kenneth loved music and singing. He loved to travel, and he loved the ocean.

He leaves behind his daughter, Grace Bass and her husband, Patrick, of Wisconsin; his brother, Roland R. McGowan of Florida; His sisters, Barbara J. Anderson of Hinckley, Minnesota, Ellen I. Wachs with her husband, Richard, of Maples, Florida, and Mary M. Akamatsu with her husband, Norio, also of Maples, Florida. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
