Free Roller Hockey Clinic
On Sat., March 4 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Riverfront Rink there will be a free roller hockey clinic.
Northern Arizona roller Hockey Inc. & Randy Exelby from "Behind the Mask" are having a FREE Roller Hockey Clinic.
Randy owns several hockey stores in the Phoenix area called "Behind the Mask." He has years of playing experience and is thrilled to see our area starting to get involved in Roller Hockey. He has offered to come and run a clinic to help teach anynoe who is interested in playing hockey the basic fundamentals of a fast action and fun sport.
Come Join us and have some fun and learn bout playing Roller Hockey. If you have equipment, bring it. If not, just come and have fun. Any questions call 649-3135. See you at the rink.
Verde Valley Little League Registration and Tryouts
If you haven't registered yet for the upcoming season you need to do it soon. Forms are available at Cottonwood Parks & Rec., Stockmen's Bank, or online at vvlittleleague.com. Completed applications with payment and birth certificate can be mailed in or dropped off at the locations listed.
Evaluation sessions for any players who want to play Major Baseball or Softball will take place Feb. 25 and March 4 from 8 a.m. to noon at Riverfront Park.
If you want to play Major baseball or softball this year you must attend one of these sessions. If you were on a Major team last year, you will be on the same team and you are not required to attend. Any 8 year olds who would like to move up to Minors from coach pitch will need to attend one of these sessions. We will also have a registration table set up on these dates for your last chance to register in person. Remember, after March 1, the registration fee increases $10 per player.
Cottonwood Parks & Rec's Softball Registration until March 31
Registration for Cottonwood Parks and Recreation department's Men's, Women's and Co-Ed Church Softball leagues is currently on going through March 31, 2006.
All three seasons will commence during or before the week of April 30. The Men's season begins April 30 and will be played on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
The Women's League will begin May 1, while the Church Co-Ed season begins April 28.
The Men's recreation and competitive leagues will be determined by a pre-season seeding tournament. The Women's league is limited to the first 16 teams with a pre-season seeding tournament to decide who will be classified as recreational and competitive.
The Church Co-Ed league is limited to the first 14 churches to register.

Lifeguard Training, WSI Training and CAC Summer Employment Opportunities
Sign-ups have begun for Cottonwood Parks and Recreation's American Red Cross Swimming Pool Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor Training Courses. The department organizes these classes for people who plan to work at the Cottonwood Aquatics Center this summer.
Lifeguard training runs from Monday, April 24 through Saturday, April 29. Weekday classes are in the evenings and Saturday's hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Lifeguard training is for people ages 15 and older and costs $125. All those interested must pre-register with payment in full by April 14.
The Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Training runs Thursday, May 4 through Sunday, May 7 with a final day of classes on Saturday, May 13. This WSI course is for people ages 16 and older and costs $125. Pre-registration with payment must be made by Friday, April 28. Payments for either class must be made in person at the Cottonwood Parks & Recreation office, 791 N. Main Street in Old Town. Space is limited in both classes so sign up now.
A mandatory meeting is also scheduled for all who are interested in working at the Cottonwood Aquatics Center this summer. Anyone wanting a position of cashier, lifeguard or Water Safety Instructor must attend. The meeting is Wednesday, April 12, 2:45 p.m. sharp at the Cottonwood Aquatics Center, 100 S. Paula Drive. All employment paperwork should be
