Mingus track off and running
The Mingus track team competed in its first meet at Bradshaw Mt. Prescott was also in attendance. The distance running results are as follows.
Boys 4x800 team of senior Rod Loehr, sophomore Ronnie Bingham, freshman Daniel Jaimes and sophomore Bruce Logan finished second in 9:17
Top Marauders in each event
1600 meter run - sophomore Nicole Powers finished third in 6:10. Freshman Tim Freriks placed fourth in 5:11.
800 meter run - freshman Carly Blair finished second in 2:44, sophomore Ronnie Bingham also finished second in 2:15, beating his best time from last year by more than 10 seconds.
3200 meter - sophomore Nicole Powers finished first in 13:44, freshman Tim Freriks finished second in 10:57 with currant 4A-1 State cross country champ Ben Schilds the only runner ahead of him.
"I am very pleased with the freshman and sophomore dominated distance crew," said coach Jim Bostwick, distance running coach.
Both 4x400 teams finished second. Girls (Winslow Scott, Carly Blair, Sarah Waddle, Nicole Powers) in 4:40 and boys (Rod Loehr, Ronnie Bingham, Sean Smull, Josh Knochel in 3:59.
