Jack P. Bird 1918 - 2007

Born June 15, 1918, in Waldron, Ark., to Vester and Arletta Bird, Jack Pershing Bird died July 8, in Sedona.

Mr. Bird grew up in Phoenix and worked in his family produce business during the 1930s and "40s. After his service in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, he was employed in the truck brokerage business and later started Montezuma Investment & Realty Company in Flagstaff in 1957.

He relocated to Camp Verde in 1979, where he developed Montezuma Heights and pursued his love of flying. Later he moved to Sedona, where he remained active in the land development business. He was married to Lucile New until her passing in August 2000. His eldest son Jack H. Bird passed away in August 2002. He is survived by his loving companion, Dorothy Johnson; sister, Elizabeth Gerick; daughter Janice Dixon and son, Stephen. A memorial service will be held at the Bueler Funeral Home, 143 W. Arnold St., Camp Verde, July 14, 10 a.m.
