Floyd 'Corky' Fulks

Floyd James "Corky" Fulks, 75, of Camp Verde, died March 5, 2007. He was born March 1, 1923, in Salina, Okla., to Colman Alexander and Pauline Stewart (Chapman) Fulks.

Floyd was a U.S. Army veteran. He was owner and operator of Corky's Air Conditioning Company. He was also very active in the Fort Verde Days Parade for many years. Corky also raised miniature horses.

He leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Jeanne of Camp Verde; his sons, Charles (Patricia) of Glendale, Samuel (Sharon) also of Glendale, Nathan (Pamela) of Phoenix; his daughter, Selena (Paul) of Clarkdale; his brother, Sherl (Anita) of Kingman; his sisters, Edith of Murietta, Calif., and Sue of Camp Verde; as well as nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Dora E. Travis

Dora Elizabeth Dippold Travis died March 5, 2007. She was born June 2, 1925, in Litchfield, Ill. She was 81.

Dora was raised in Gillespie, Ill., and attended Blackburn University in Carlinville, Ill., and then the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. She graduated from Arizona State University in 1972 with a degree in Elementary Education. In 1949, she married Paul Travis, who preceded her in death.

Her love was teaching kindergarten, first in Hillsboro, Ill., then later teaching Sunday School at her beloved One in Christ Church.

Dora was an active and enthusiastic member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority even after her college years. She was recognized and honored for Outstanding Service in 2005 by the ZTA National Fraternity.

On Thursday evenings Dora enjoyed talking with the Golden Girls of the Verde Valley Amateur Radio Association.

Dora is survived by her children, Jennifer Travis, Susan Weitzman and Charles Travis, her brother, Edward Dippold, her sister, Marjorie Mitchell, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be at 1 p.m. and a service at 2 p.m., Saturday March 10, at the One in Christ Church, 2080 S. 260, Cottonwood.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be sent to the One In Christ Church.

Guy Henley

Guy Henley, 61, of Jerome, died on March 2, 2007 in Phoenix. He was born on June 6, 1945, in Carmel, Calif. He lived in Jerome for 35 years, and was assistant fire chief for the Town of Jerome in the early '80s. He was also a silversmith.

He is survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. A.T. Henley, a sister Anna Delia, a son Elijah Henley and a daughter Jasmina Henley.

A memorial service will be on March 17 at 5 p.m. at Paul & Jerry's in Jerome.

Laveta J. Stewart

Laveta Jean Stewart, 63, of Cornville, died on March 6, 2007, in Payson. She was born on Jan. 15, 1944, in Miami, Ariz. Lavata was a former resident of Payson, and was retired from the Cottonwood Oak Creek School District. She was married to the late Melvin Stewart.

She is survived by her father Gene McDaniel and step-mother Stella McDaniel; daughters Laurie Brunson of Payson, Kelly Pendergrass of Palo Verde and Renee Teeters of Camp Verde; a sister Carol Bates of Laveen; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at the First Southern Baptist Church, 302 S. Ash St., in Payson. In lieu of flowers please make donations to RTA Hospice, 511 S. Mud Spring Road, Payson AZ 85541. An online guest book is available at www.messingerpayson.com.

Joseph A. Rebottaro

Joseph A. Rebottaro, 90, of Camp Verde, died Feb. 2,5 2007. Joe was born in Napa, Calif., July 18, 1916, to the late Catherine and Eugene Rebottaro.

Joe served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Later he married his sweetheart Josephine, who preceded him in death just two years ago.

Joe was a life member of the VFW.

A memorial mass will be celebrated in Joe's honor 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10, at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Camp Verde.

Dr. Wesley V. Boudette

Dr. Wesley Vernon Boudette, 87, of Rimrock, died March 7, 2007. He was born Nov. 20, 1920, in Claremont, N.H., to the late Cornelius and Lillian Boudette.

Wesley studied medicine in Iowa. After medical school he moved to Arizona and worked at Phoenix General Hospital as doctor of radiology for many years. He retired from Phoenix General and moved to Rimrock.

He is survived by his wife, June Pearce Boudette; his sons, Timothy Boudette, Gregory Boudette, Eric Boudette, and Daniel Boudette; his daughters, Christine Deal, Caroline George, Sarah Pendykoski, and Brenda Boudette; his sister Mary; 13 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for friends and family 10 a.m. today, March 9, at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Camp Verde. Burial will immediately follow at Middle Verde Cemetery. Additionally friends may visit Saturday, March 10, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 4420 Quail Hollow Road, Rimrock.

Susan B. Burt

Susan Brennan Burt, 70, died at home in Cornville on Feb. 19, 2007, following a swift battle with inflammatory breast cancer. A Chesterton, Ind., resident for 35 years, she was born May 24, 1936, in Sac City, Iowa, to Hugh and Elizabeth Morton.

She was the fifth of nine children and the eldest daughter. Susan was valedictorian of her class and a thespian. She served in the U.S. Marine Corps. After becoming the mother of three, she earned a nursing degree at Purdue North Central and worked for a few years as an RN. Later she became a professional insurance agent and office manager of Burt Insurance Agency, Valparaiso, Ind., where she worked until September of 2006.

Survivors include husband Jack F. Burt of Indiana, daughter Cheryl Fanning of Cornville, son Terry Brennan of Indiana, son Matthew Brennan of Cottonwood, and step-daughter Mary Connors of Indiana. Private family services were held.
