VVMC offers cardiac education
Verde Valley Medical Center invites the community to its "Heart of the Matter" cardiac education topic Monday, April 9, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Samuel Butman, M.D., interventional cardiologist, will be presenting, "What Cardiac Drugs Should or Shouldn't You Take?"
There are many medications and supplements prescribed, and many taken by all of us who want to prevent a stroke, heart attack and other vascular problems. Cardiovascular disease is the most common condition affecting millions of Americans, regardless of gender or age, each year. Cholesterol-lowering, clot-preventing, antioxidant, expensive and inexpensive drugs are all the rage. Health foods, herbal remedies and the good and bad of vitamins to prevent heart disease are similarly pleasing and confusing consumers worldwide.
In order to make good decisions about your own health, come to April's free lecture to learn about the science, belief systems, hopes and downside of the many cardiac medications and supplements on the market today. The program will be presented at VVMC, 269 S. Candy Lane, Cottonwood, in Conference Rooms B and C. Pre-registration is not required. If you have questions or would like more information, call Susan Kennen at 639-6322.
