Helen Leola Brooks, 1929-2007

Helen Leola Brooks, 78, of Camp Verde, died April 28, at her home. 

She was born July 12, 1929, in Dove Creek, Colo., to the late Bessie Davison and Arthur Holmes.

Helen was a dedicated ranch wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. 

She enjoyed long walks, wild flowers and rock collections.

She loved her cat, family photos and reading. 

She is survived by her husband of 52 years; James L. Brooks; her sons, Jack (Martha) of Holbrook and Jim, also of Arizona; her sister, Florence Stuckie of Santa Clara, Utah; four grandchildren and one great grand-daughter.  

A family memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. May 6 on Apache Maid Mountain. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Camp Verde Public Library Building Fund.
