Carl L. Layman 1938 - 2007

Carl Le Roy Layman, 69, of Lake Montezuma, died Nov. 9, 2007. He was born on Jan. 2, 1938, in Dorris, Calif.

Carl served in the U.S. Army as a medic. He graduated from Northern Arizona University in 1970 with a bachelor's degree in Education and in 1976 with a master's degree in Education.

He was married to the late Dorothy Layman for 34 years.

He taught school at Beaver Creek School 1971-1996 and later served on the school board. He was a member of the Montezuma-Rimrock Fire Department 1973-2006.

Carl is survived by his brothers, Ronald Layman of Whittier, Calif., Larry Layman of Myrtle Creek, Ore., and Gary Layman of Zortman, Mont.; his sister, Chloe Zinn of Chula Vista, Calif.; his daughter, Delyte Nasch of Camp Verde, and four grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be at Westcott Funeral Home on Nov. 17, at 10 a.m. with interment to follow at Middle Verde Cemetery in Camp Verde.
