Camp Verde Middle School Student Council spreads unity
Camp Verde Middle School Student Council Leadership Team has some exciting plans for the 2007-08 school year. This group of students is dedicating their year to bringing together a unity and tolerance among all students.
To train for the events of the year the student council traveled to Flagstaff to develop camaraderie amongst the whole group. The NAU students provided a leadership training and education for the CVMS members by having them complete a ropes course on Sept. 21. At CVMS, the Student Council is made up of two representatives from each class. The purpose of this visit was to help CVMS's leaders become a cohesive group that can work together to conquer any task. Thirty-seven members were able to attend this inspirational day in Flagstaff where they learned the importance of teamwork.
The Camp Verde Middle School Student Council Leadership Team held a brunch for district cafeteria workers and bus drivers on Sept. 22. Approximately 50 associates were present at this delightful gathering, which was held in the CVMS Art room. The Student Council provided breakfast and beverages for the attendees. They also enjoyed their meal while visiting with the each other.
Other events the student council is focusing on this year are:
Concrete to lockers, adopt-a-campus, penny drive, staff appreciation gifts and lunches, Lemonade Stand, spirit week, participate in parades, dances, Aims motivation, outdoor lunch tables and shade covers, mascot in gym, lip sync, and talent show.
The CVMS Student Council wants to thank the community, the school staff, the SAC, their advisors, and Principal Mr. Brown for all of the support received for the student council activities.
