Glen Dukeshier 1927-2007

Glen Dukeshier, 79, died Oct. 23, 2007, at his home in Sedona. He was born Dec. 15, 1927 in Cole Camp, Mo., to Ray and Essie Dukeshier. His parents came west during the Depression and settled in Ione, Wash.

Glen served our country in the U.S. Army between World War II and the Korean War. After his enlistment, Glen followed the mining, logging and construction industries. He returned to Ione in 1959 to raise his family.

Glen finished his career working rock quarries of western Washington. Upon retirement, he and his wife Mary moved to Sedona. Both became active in the Elks Lodge. Glen also developed a passion for woodworking and took on many projects.

Glen is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary; their three children, Phil (Janne) Dukeshier, Phyllis (Gary) Philippart, and Ron (Virginia) Dukeshier; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at Elks Lodge #229 , 110 Airport Road, Sedona. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to Steele Children's Research Center, P.O. Box 245073, Tucson AZ 85724.
