Leon A. Frame 1917 - 2007

Leon Austin Frame, 90, of Cottonwood, died Sept. 13, 2007. He was born Aug. 3, 1917, in Sutton, W.Va., to Virgil Austin and Ursley Jane (Arnold) Frame. Leon attended his childhood schooling in Garfield, Ohio.

During the Depression he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy; and was stationed in the South Pacific as a C.B. in the 98th Construction Battalion.

Leon was employed as an operating engineer with the Local 428, working and operating the crane, and other heavy equipment.

He leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Velma Frame of Cottonwood; two sons, Leon Austin Frame Jr. of Ackron, Ohio, and Michael E. Mitchell (Jeanne) of Cave Creek; his daughter, Linda Heser (Gordon) of Phoenix; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A Memorial Service will be Saturday, Sept. 22, at 2 p.m. at the One in Christ Church in Cottonwood. Leon will be laid to rest at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Cave Creek.
