Maudelyn 'Marge' Whitley 1917 - 2007
Maudelyn N. Whitley, known and loved as "Marge," resident of Cottonwood, died Sept. 17, 2007, at the age of 90. Marge was born in Elyria, Ohio, on July 17, 1917, to Albert Johnston Jr. and Maude May (Burgan) Johnston.
Marge worked for Motorola and was also self-employed. She was most proud, though, of being a homemaker. She was a faithful member of the Baptist faith.
She was an expert seamstress, having created many beautiful pieces of apparel and drapery. She was also a very talented artist, leaving to those she loved, many oil painting masterpieces, and spectacular works of ceramic.
After outliving two husbands, she was fortunate in finding love a third time with her husband of eight years, Charles E. Whitley of Cottonwood. Marge also leaves behind her daughter, Sandra Dircks of Payson; two sisters, Ledora Biltz (Steve) of Arizona, and Lillian Mollenkoph of Ohio; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
No local services are planned.
