Griselda is an 11-year-old Sedona artist. This fifth grader already has a piece on world tour with a YMCA art show. When she grows up, she would like to be an art teacher. It never occurred to her that she could be a professional artist.
Griselda is a wonderful young lady who needs a Big Sister to help her see what the future could be, and to hold her hand along the journey.
Her mom, smiling nearly as sweetly as Griselda, says she's a bit head strong, some might call it focused or driven, others might say she's stubborn. Either way you see it, she is a strong young woman who, with the proper nudge at the right time, will grow to use her strengths to drive her life forward in a positive way.
Right now, she uses her strength to run track and play soccer. During recess she holds her own on the soccer field with the boys, most of whom are her friends.
Like a lot of girls her age she often finds herself at odds with her other sisters and her Mom. Having a caring adult in her life, who is not a parent, would afford her the opportunity to see responsible behavior, learn leadership, have meaningful discussions about growing up, and have fun with someone like a Big Sister. She is ready for new experiences, and ready for a friend like you.
In addition to the many interests this girl has, she is also wise enough to know she has difficulty staying focused in her Math class, and could use a Big who wouldn't mind a little homework mixed in with the fun.
She likes school, but sometimes it doesn't like her. "I only need a little help with school, we'll still have time to laugh and hang out," explained Griselda
