Letter: $75 of gas just doesn't cut it any more

Editor:

The other day I went to fill the tank on my truck with diesel fuel. I swiped my debit card through the pump and started pumping. My truck has a capacity of 39 gallons. The pump at a local station turned off after $75. At today's prices I need up to $150 to fill the tank.

I wonder if this is arrogance or stupidity on the part of the local gas stations. I am sure it is a loss-prevention tactic on the part of the local gas station because I have used the same card at truck stops without this limit.

My choices are to start another transaction, or to leave and get fuel at a more friendly gas station. I usually leave and find a gas station that at least understands the size of tanks in trucks.
