Harry R. Williams Jr. 1917 - 2008

Harry Raymond Williams Jr., 90, of Cottonwood, died in Peoria, Ariz., on Jan. 27, 2008. He was born June 3, 1917, in Pennsylvania.

He lived his working years in Flushing and Plainview, N.Y., employed by American Airlines 34 years and retired to Southern California.

After the death of his first wife Helen, he moved to Durango, Colo., in 1988, and met Neva, to whom he was married for 18 years. They made Cottonwood their home for the past eight years.

Known for his kindness and sense of humor, he was a pioneer amateur radio buff starting in the 1920s and for most of his life.

He was a member of the Society of American Magicians.

He is survived by his wife Neva; son Tom (Connie); stepsons Tom, Alan (Sherry) and Carl (Evelyn) Stills; on grandson; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is set for Feb. 9 at 1 p.m. at Clarkdale Baptist Church, 1051 E. 89A, Clarkdale. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Clarkdale Baptist Church, 1051 E. 89A, Clarkdale AZ 86324.
