Editorial: Community owes Marianne Jiménez debt of gratitude
Given her many years of service to the City of Cottonwood, we certainly have to respect the wishes of Marianne Jiménez in withdrawing her name from consideration as Cottonwood's new city manager.
Just like Police Chief Doug Bartosh, Jiménez would bring a unique set of skills and strengths to the position had she chosen to continue her pursuit of the job. As she has so capably demonstrated during her tenure as acting city manager, Marianne can do the job. Quite well, in fact.
Even though she has chosen not to pursue the position, the community owes a huge debt of gratitude to Marianne for the way she stepped forward following the untimely death of Brian Mickelsen. This was the most difficult period of transition in this history of the city and Marianne provided solid leadership. She kept the ship on course.
Thank you, Marianne.
