L.C. Stone 1923 - 2008

L.C. "Stoney" Stone died quietly July 5, 2008. He was born June 29, 1923, in Mtn. Home, Ark., to Henry Washington and Carrie (Lance) Stone.

Stoney was a retired cement finisher who rode with the famous Bill Williams' Mountain Men and, in the 1970s, made historic horseback trips from Williams to Phoenix to participate in the Jaycees' Rodeo Parade.

Stoney was a longtime resident of Camp Verde. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family.

Stoney is survived by his wife, Rosalie; daughter, Coleen Wade; his sons Don J. Stone and Bud R. Stone; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
