Former state Sen. Karen Johnson said Thursday she intends to run in the Republican primary for governor next year against incumbent Jan Brewer. During her 18 years in the Legislature, Johnson was known for espousing conservative issues like this 2007 press conference seeking to ban Arizona from creating a "technically enhanced" driver's license, complete with radio frequency chip, to comply with the federal Real ID Act.
