Letter:Well-deserved respect shown our veterans

The Verde Valley American Legion Riders and Wreaths Across America 4 Prescott National Cemetery would like to thank all of the many business and Veterans Organizations who donated to the Wreaths Project. We were able to lay 1,200 wreaths on Saturday, Dec. 12 because of all of you.

The Legion Riders were also fortunate enough to donate $1,200.00 to the Verde Valley Veterans Vans for use in maintaining the Vans which take Veterans from all over the Verde and Sedona to their doctors appointments in Prescott, Phoenix, Anthem and around the valley. A DVD/VCR was also donated to the Cottonwood VA Clinic to help in training video's. A flat screen TV was mounted on the wall last year from the ALR.

A donation of $150 each was given to Verde Valley Senior Center in Cottonwood and Camp Verde Senior Center to help with their Christmas dinners which serve our older Veterans.

We hold motorcycle runs and fund raisers each year that will enable us, thanks to your donations to continue to help our local Veterans and the VA hospital in Prescott. There are only three VA hospitals in Arizona and Prescott serves all of northern Arizona.

Our other objective is to bring home all of our returning Veterans with an escort and parade. So please if any parent or love one will call and let us know when one of our Hero's may be returning, we would be Honored and Proud to escort them.

Mothers and Father of Veterans please contact Lettie at 928-567-5012 so that the American Legion Auxiliary can present you with the Blue Star Banner that is placed in your window so all will know you are the proud parents of a Military Son or Daughter.
