Even though it seems that the Spring elections in Camp Verde and Cottonwood are barely under way, ballots are available for early voting beginning Thursday.

Yavapai County Registrar of Voters Karen McCracken advises that voters may cast ballots "early" at the County Annex in Cottonwood or at Camp Verde Town Hall for the Camp Verde election. Be sure to bring a picture identification to vote early.

Since the Cottonwood Council voted to convert to a mail-only ballot, this is the first election that there will be no traditional polling places and polls. All ballots will be mailed to a home address on the registration.

Ballots will be mailed beginning Feb 16, according to Yavapai County.

At a recent tally, 5,417 voters were registered in the City of Cottonwood. Camp Verde has 5,429 registered voters.

Cottonwood voters will be casting ballots for council seats during the primary election. Camp Verde will be electing its mayor and council.
