The Marauders came out quickly in the first quarter and scored two three-pointers by Sha-Nae Randall and Kayla Storie for an early 6-0 lead. Arcadia battled back and both teams ended the first quarter with 11 points.

After the deadlocked first quarter, the Marauders got a bit of a jump heading into halftime. Tina Hagberg scored six for Mingus as the Marauders edged Arcadia, 10-6 to take a 21-17 halftime lead.

Both teams came out battling in the third quarter and the Marauder defense continued to remain sharp. Mingus held Arcadia to only seven points while holding onto a 6-point lead at the end of three quarters, 30-24.

In the fourth quarter, Arcadia went on a 9-0 run and took a 33-30 lead. The Marauders had something to say about that when Kelsey Wokasch hit a three pointer to tie the game.

The Marauders took the lead back when Hagberg scored two. Then the Marauders spent the rest of the fourth quarter, scoring points from the free throw line, going 9-for-15.

Arcadia continued to battle and scored a total of 15 points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough to regain the lead.

Hagberg led the Marauders with 14 points, followed by Kayla Storie with ten.

The No. 5 Marauders continue to the second round of the State Tournament tonight, when they travel to No. 4 Palo Verde for a 7 p.m. game. Palo Verde defeated No. 13 Catalina 63-47 on Tuesday.
