Clarkdale seeking board applicants
Clarkdale - The Clarkdale Town Council is seeking applications for appointments to several boards and commissions.
The Board of Adjustment has two openings. This board acts as a judicial body that hears and decides appeals to administrative decisions. It also interprets the boundaries of zoning districts and makes decisions on variances.
The Design Review Board has four open seats. It reviews the exterior design of proposed new buildings and proposed alterations to existing buildings.
The Library Advisory Board has four open seats and advises the council and staff regarding Clark Memorial Library.
The Parks and Recreation Commission Board has two open seats. It is an advisory body to the council on park development, recreational activities and programming and community services.
The Planning Commission has two open seats and it makes recommendations to the council. The commission reviews all long-range plans for the town, including the General Plan as well as specific plans and rezoning. It is responsible for the initial review of larger developments, including applications for preliminary subdivision plats.
Boards and commissions usually meet once a month, but special meetings are called as needed.
Clarkdale residents interested in serving on any of these boards or commissions should submit an application to Town Hall no later than Aug. 13.
The appointments are all two-year terms.
