Teacher accused of student sex bonds out, faces hearing
A Cottonwood charter school teacher who is alleged to have had sexual relations with a 17-year-old student faces an early disposition court appearance this week after she was released from jail.
Early disposition court allows an accused to plead, potentially avoiding a court trial.
Emili Kay Daniels, a 34-year-old biology teacher at American Heritage Academy, was terminated Thursday after the school's principal reported that he found her and the teenage boy together in a locked room with the student's pants undone.
The student told investigators that he and Daniels had had sexually-related incidents in or around the classroom and the woman was arrested
The 34-year-old woman is charged with three counts of sexual conduct with a minor.
Friday, Daniels posted a $20,000 bond and was released from jail.
