Big Park School student Gerard Regorgo celebrates his first place blue ribbon in the KSB Litter Prevention Poster competition.

Big Park School student Gerard Regorgo has won first prize in his age division and a $200 U.S. Savings Bond in the Keep Sedona Beautiful Annual Litter Prevention Poster Competition.

The student of fourth grade teacher Bonny Smith and art teacher Mrs. Rodriguez, Gerard accomplished the difficult challenge of best portraying this year's theme of "Refuse + Reuse + Recycle = Zero Waste."

The winners of the four class divisions representing schools Sedona-wide were selected by a panel of judges during the month-long display at the Sedona Library.

Each winner will receive awards presented by Keep Sedona Beautiful, and several posters will be exhibited at stores and on the screen at Harkins Theater in the months to come.

Gerard and younger brother Andre (also an artist) are the sons of Villagers Dina and Nick Regorgo.

At a March 12th reception for participating families held at the Library, a very pleased Mom Dina said of the contest,"

We are proud to be a part of this wonderful project, which creates awareness for our youth and for everybody!"
