Vivian Louise Beattie 1916 - 2010
Vivian Louise Beattie, 93, went home to be with her Lord on April 28, 2010.
She was born December 18, 1916 to Henry W. and Mable E. (O’Neil) Fike in Boyne Falls, Michigan. She graduated from Boyne Falls High School in 1935 and attended Midland Business College.
She married her high school sweetheart Carl W. Beattie December 20, 1935 in Midland, Michigan. They began 10 years of Navy Life during WWII. She was a devoted homemaker sharing her cooking expertise with family and friends.
Vivian was also an excellent seamstress making her daughter’s wedding dress, veil, attendant’s dresses and her own dress besides baking and decorating a beautiful wedding cake. She was also active in women’s church groups.
Vivian became a Weight Watcher lecturer, inspiring many for several years in the Flint area. She moved from Michigan to Cottonwood, Arizona with her daughter Bonnie (Jack) Bryan in 2001.
She enjoyed many back road Jeep rides and trips around the state including the West Coast as far as Victoria, Canada.
Survivors include a daughter Bonnie, son in law Jack, grandson Todd in Houston, Texas, granddaughter Lisa (Matthew) Hebl and two great grandchildren in Camp Verde, Arizona, a great grandchild in Michigan, brother JC (Doris) Fike in Michigan and many loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her brother Neil.
She has left a legacy of beautiful memories to all of us.
Her funeral will be at the Barnard United Methodist Church in Charlevoix, Michigan.
The Reverend Eugene Baughan will officiate.
Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery in Charlevoix, Michigan.
