Cancer Centers of Northern Arizona Healthcare – Sedona Campus

The Cancer Centers of Northern Arizona Healthcare – Sedona Campus provides radiation and medical oncology services with board-certified oncologists who utilize some of the most current technologies and programs for treating cancer patients including:

Breast Cancer Resource Center: Certified breast health navigators provide support and guidance offering pre-operative education, patient and family support services, educational resources, prevention and awareness programs, nutritional counseling, breast prosthesis fittings, mastectomy bras and garments, and hats and wigs.

Brachytherapy: An advanced option for the treatment of prostate cancer through the placement of small, rice-sized radioactive seeds into the prostate gland. The seeds give off low-dose radiation to the tumor within the prostate gland over the course of approximately six months.

Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT): IMRT has been called the most significant breakthrough in radiation treatments in the past 30 years. This therapy pinpoints difficult-to-treat tumors found in the spine, head, neck, prostate, liver and brain. IMRT has been shown to successfully treat areas which previously had been treated using conventional radiation therapy. IMRT’s sophisticated computer software is able to configure the radiation beam to match the shape of the tumor while adjusting the exposure during treatment.

Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT): IGRT is a new technology designed to improve the precision and effectiveness of cancer treatments by giving physicians the ability to target and track tumors more accurately through high-resolution images that pinpoint tumor sites.

Radiation Oncology Nursing Services: Specially trained nurses are available to meet with patients and/or family members to assist with any medical needs that may arise during the course of treatment.

Support Programs: Amenities provided to patients and families include van transportation service to and from treatments, monthly support groups and more, to help them during this often challenging journey.
