Chocolate Lovers' Walk a sweet touch for Old Town
COTTONWOOD - December in Old Town Cottonwood rings in one of the favorite events of the year, the annual Chocolate Lovers' Walk, joyously unwrapped Saturday, Dec. 4, from 4-8 p.m.
Join the Old Town gang after Cottonwood's hometown parade for this special evening of holiday lights and a sumptuous bag full of homemade chocolates, presented by the Cottonwood Old Town Association.
What is not to love? Locals and visitors have been filling bags with chocolates for 15 years. Main Street merchants' decorated shops are aglow in holiday lights, and the scents of hot cocoa, mint and holiday cheer abound.
Old Town's newly illuminated Christmas tree will be lit as carolers sing. Stroll down Main, select your chocolates and help judge shops for the Best Chocolate Award. Even chocolate-collecting bags are hand-decorated with love and will warm your smile.
The evening is surrounded by music of the season. The Cottonwood Community Band strikes up at 5 p.m. The 45-member strong Cottonwood Elementary School band picks it up at 5:30. The new Christmas tree will be lit for the first time at 6 p.m. And the Verde Valley Voices will sing into the evening.
