Memeth Mike Zale 1940 - 2010
Memeth Mike Zale passed away Friday, Dec. 3, surrounded by his family.
Mem was a “New Years Baby,” born in Phoenix on Jan. 1, 1940, to Hason and Sophie (Marich) Zale; the sixth of their eight children. Mem grew up on his parents’ homesteaded land and attended Washington High School
In 1963, Mem married Phyllis Duke and eventually moved to Cornville where they raised their three children. He was employed for many years as a backhoe operator and eventually started his own business, A to Z Construction. He retired in 2000.
Mem will be remembered for his abundant gardens, the enjoyment he had while fishing and hunting and his love for his family, especially his nine grandchildren.
Mem leaves his wife of 47 years, Phyllis Zale, as well as his daughter, Denise Zale, and sons, Scott and Billy (Joddie) Zale.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sara Groves and Heather Bauer, Tyler and Justin Zale, Cody and Kylee Hudson, and Kameron, Connor & Carson Zale.
Mem is survived by four siblings, Mary, Allen, Homer and Zana Zale, his former daughter-in-law, Amy Zale, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Mem’s life will take place Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, at 11 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Hombre Lane, Cottonwood) with a reception to follow at the Zale residence 365 South Page Springs Road, Cornville.
