Child of the Week
Meet Big Sister Nyomi and Little Sister Cierra.
Cierra is 7 years old with as an outgoing and talkative personality. She loves her mom and grandmother and says they are the most important things in her life. Cierra loves to swim, jump rope, and play jacks. She says she is very good at jacks. Cierra's favorite subjects in school are Math and Science. She also enjoys reading and Hannah Montana books. When she grows up, Cierra wants to be a rock star, an artist, or an opera singer.
Nyomi decided to be a Big Sister because she wanted to be a positive influence and role model in the life of a child. She understands that spending a couple hours a month can make a huge difference in a child's life. Plus, having a Little Sister gives her the excuse to have some extra fun!
Nyomi and Cierra are all smiles when they are together. They like to go swimming, play games and make crafts. Sometimes, when the sun is out and it's nice and warm they will go out for ice cream. This past fall, they joined Yavapai Big Brothers and Big Sisters on a group trip to the Grand Canyon to learn about fossils.
