Village Book Sale nets $3,000
Many thanks to all the residents, businesses and others who made our book sale in June the best yet. We raised over $3,000 in sales and donations - our best results to date.
Special thanks go to Michele Moore of Marketplace Café for our wonderful new banner sign, to Jake Weber and his staff for distributing hundreds of flyers in grocery bags and supplying dozens of boxes for storing books, to Dan Willits for making new and eye catching signs for our book tables as well as ones for way-finding and to the firefighters on duty at Station 3 who helped in myriad ways when they had time.
Most of all, thank you to the many volunteers that moved books, set them up and priced them, as well as rearranging and selling them during the sale (Leigh Shafer, Joe and Sonya Landholm, Jack Deshida, Suzie Dunn, Dona, Barbara Mezela, Peter Gendron, Carol Stetser, Bonnie, Lorrie Petersen, Dennis Young, S. Vallaue, Ellen White, Kathi Sartwell, Margaret Rasmussen, Valerie Girard, Carol Redenbaugh, Kitty Hayes, Marie and Bill Hufferd, Karen Willits, and Nancy Oliphant). We couldn't have done it without you.
Among the many donated books we received, we found a number that have a higher resale value than we could usually get at our sale. These were pulled aside and will be sold through the Friends of the Library online sales. So we won't have a final sales figure until that is completed.
We're already looking forward to our next sale - probably in January - so keep those donations coming. We have two generous Villager families, Dick and Carol Smith and Jeanne Baggs and her husband, Bob, who are allowing us to store them in their extra space. If you have questions or contributions, please contact SPL in the Village at 284-1603 or Carolyn Fisher at 284-4638.
