Verde Valley March Against Meth Parade invites entrants
Verde Valley residents will help kick off April Substance Abuse Awareness Month in Yavapai County with its fourth annual "March Against Meth" parade and community fair. MATForce, the Yavapai County Substance Abuse Coalition, is sponsoring the event, which will take place on Saturday, March 27, in Cottonwood.
MATForce invites All youth and adult community groups, families or businesses are invited to enter the parade or participate in the community fair. Group such as student councils, FFA, National Junior Honor Society, SADD, Girl /Boy Scouts, classrooms, school bands, Native American organizations, church youth organizations, dance and drill teams, CAP, JROTC, rotary clubs or recovery groups are just some of the invited participants.
Prizes will be awarded for outstanding entries!
Cottonwood City Manager and MATForce Co-Chair Doug Bartosh encourages every to join in.
"Last year the parade and fair had over 40 entries and 1,500 participants. The message is that we want to live in a community that keeps kids safe and healthy. We hope to have even more entries this year."
The parade kicks off at 10 a.m. from Cottonwood Middle School and will end at Riverfront Park. After the parade, a Community Fair will be held at Riverfront Park with free lunch, resource booths, entertainment, awards, and activities for children.
