Who will be county Teacher of the Year?

VERDE VALLEY - The nominations are in for the 2010 Yavapai County Teacher of the Year, and for First Year Teacher of the Year. Eleven of the 66 nominees countywide are from the Verde Valley.

The teachers are nominated from their own schools. Each nominee then completes an application as well as responding to questions and providing examples demonstrating innovation, creativity and enthusiasm. The next step will be for members of a committee to judge the applications against a rubric.

The committee is made up of community members, college professors, retired K-12 teachers and Yavapai County Education Foundation Board members.
