Saint Joseph’s Catholic School Graduation
A baccalaureate ceremony was held for Dalvin Estivariz, Lily Leonard, Shannon Knowles and Francesca Settanni on Thursday May 27 in Immaculate Conception Church. The graduating class of 2010 represents the hard work of an entire community committed to a Roman Catholic traditional education led by Father David. Dalvin Estivariz, Student Council President, opened the ceremony with his words of wisdom for the future. Shannon Knowles and Francesca Settanni shared many memorable and funny moments from the beginning of St. Joseph’s. Both students have attended the school from the vision of its founder Elaine Andersen as a one room school house five years ago. Lily Leonard sang a solo My Wish for You to a huge applause. Father Pawel presented each graduate with a blessing, encouraging words and their own personal Bible. According to Greg Kirkham, principal at the school, this graduation represents a monumental occasion for all the hard work and vision from the Parish, community, staff and parents. “We are all very proud of our first graduated class and know that each of them will be successful at Mingus Union High School,” said Kirkham. The school serves children from Pre-K through eighth grade. A full day Montessori or traditional kindergarten is available.
