John Mariani 1922 - 2010

John Mariani, former co-owner and operator of the Jerome Dairy from 1946-1957 passed away at age 87.

He was born November 29, 1922, in Prescott, AZ. His family moved to the Verde Valley in 1923. He graduated from Clarkdale High School.

After the dairy closed, he became an operator of company mining stores in Silver Bell and San Manuel, AZ. After retirement he made his home in Tucson and then Phoenix. For the past eight years he lived with his daughter’s family in North Carolina.

Survivors include his son, Guido Mariani of Lemon Grove, CA, his daughter Nancy Kueffer (Jeff) of Chapel Hill NC, granddaughters Hally and Jennifer Kueffer, Katrina Thatcher of Washington State, Anthony Thatcher of New Jersey, nephews James Areghini of Mesa and David Areghini of Phoenix. He is also survived by his son in law, Herb Thatcher of Kingston, Washington.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Thatcher. His kind heart and gentle ways will be truly missed. Services were held in NC.
