Richard Hewlett 1933 - 2010

Richard F. Hewlett, 76, of Cottonwood died November 11, 2010. He was born December 28, 1933, in Fort Dodge, Indiana, the son of Floyd R. and Gladys E. Hewlett.

He attended Sibley High School from 1948-1952 and was the Salutatorian. He received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University, his MSCE from University of Iowa and a PhD from the University of Arizona. He worked for Kaiser Aluminum, R. F. Hewlett & Associates, Mineral Exploration Corporation and Searchlight Mining Company.

Mr. Hewlett was a member of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Hewlett is survived by his wife of 33 years, Margaret Hewlett; three stepchildren, Randy, Cindy and Camy; brother Robert A. Hewlett (Linda) of Tucson; sister Jean E. Davis (Stan) of Colorado Springs; ten stepgrandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 17 in the Westcott Funeral Home at 10 AM. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. An hour of visitation will be held from 9 AM until the time of the service.
