Grab a bag for Chocolate Lovers' Walk
December rings in Old Town Cottonwood's favorite event of the year, our annual Chocolate Lovers' Walk, on Saturday, Dec. 4, 4-8 p.m. Join in a special evening of Holiday lights, music and a bag full of homemade chocolates, presented by the Old Town Association of Cottonwood.
What is not to love about this evening? Old Town Main Street merchants stay open late, and shops are full of the scents of hot cocoa, mint and Holiday cheer.
Old Town's new Christmas tree will be lit as carolers sing. Stroll down the avenue while merchants compete for the Best Chocolate and the Best Decorated store awards. Best Chocolate and Best Decorated Awards will be posted in the Civic Center and at the winning merchants' venues.
Even the chocolate collecting bags are hand-decorated with love.
This year's collectable bags start a new tradition with historic landmarks in Old Town stamped on the bags. The Art Glitter Institute has hand decorated each bag to make it that extra special sparkle of the Season.
Trolley back to your car if you get too full of chocolate goodness. The free Trolley makes 10 stops, so it is easy to get to all of the participating merchants!
For a mere $20, receive dozens of homemade chocolates to indulge in. This year 37 merchants are participating. That's 37 homemade chocolates for $20! Not to mention the evening of enjoyment.
Music includes the Cottonwood Community Band playing in the Civic Center at 5 p.m. and the Verde Valley Voices singing at the Tree Lighting at 6 p.m., and then caroling through the streets.
Lighting of the new Magic Light Christmas Tree will be at 6 p.m. with Mayor Diane Joens presenting.
