No solid upward trends in sales revenue
Clarkdale, Jerome up in total revenue for fiscal year
VERDE VALLEY – “We’re all over the board,” said Rudy Rodriguez, finance director for the City of Cottonwood. “There really is no trend that says we’ve improved.”
Rodriguez said the city’s sales tax revenue was down 6 percent in June, up 4 percent in July and down 8 percent in August. “We’re always looking for trends,” he said, “but we don’t have a trend.”
There is, however, one indicator that Rodriguez thinks may well be a positive one. “In December of 2009, we kind of turned a corner on the double-digit drops,” he said. “We haven’t had a double-digit drop since.”
